ERIN'S LAW
Feature Documentary
Once a teenager on the verge of taking her own life from the insufferable panic attacks, anxiety, flashbacks and pain she endured from years of childhood sexual abuse, today Erin Merryn speaks and fights for Erin’s Law to be passed by every state. Having appeared on Oprah, Katie Couric, and more, her vision has become a true mission to give a voice to millions of children, who when educated through schools, will speak up about the sexual abuse that is occurring at insane rates. It’s estimated that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused, leading to an epidemic scale of 42 Million adults in America now carrying this trauma. Does that translate into other costly illness? Yes – be it mental health issues, depression or chronic pain, it's well known that the internal shame turns into physical issues that drain people and the society of resources. So the fight is not only to give a voice to the children, but to stop the core issue.
It's a simple law that is still not passed in 12 states… giving rise to a film that will not only follow this final fight, but reveal the unstoppable voice and life that is Erin Merryn.
